Laura Rector is Executive Director of the IU LAB Bio Start-Up Center, where she leads efforts to strengthen the founder journey and accelerate the translation of scientific innovation into commercially viable companies. An IU Alumn, she brings more than 30 years of healthcare and life sciences leadership experience spanning medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, and emerging technologies.
Her career combines the perspectives of business builder, venture-backed executive, commercialization leader, and founder advisor, with leadership experience across Johnson & Johnson, Roche Diagnostics, Stryker, Wright Medical, Smith+Nephew, and emerging healthcare ventures. Laura has built and scaled healthcare businesses, led venture-backed companies through regulatory, capital, and commercialization milestones, and connected founders with the industry relationships, expertise, resources, and partners needed to move innovation toward market.
