IU LAB is where biosciences meets technology to drive innovation, accelerate IU-led initiatives, and attract new businesses to the state. The IU Health Incubator at IU LAB will assist up to 40 human health biotech startups per year grow into major companies through unprecedented partnership. IU Health, via lead sponsorship and thought-partnership, gener8tor, Plug and Play, and the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership will collaborate to provide a full suite of offerings for startups at any stage of the business life cycle. With the local expertise of IU Health and the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, and the national and international reach of gener8tor and Plug and Play, the IU Health Incubator at IU LAB will drive advancements and commercialization in biosciences, develop talent, bring an expansive national and international industry network and unprecedented business acceleration experience.

Powered by gener8tor’s gBETA program, the pre-accelerator is a seven-week program where startup founders will get tailored support designed specifically for entrepreneurs. They’ll refine their business model and value proposition; connect with mentors, customers and investors; and acquire the skills to raise the capital needed to achieve business milestones. The pre-accelerator will support up to 10 companies per year, with the first cohort launching in July 2025.
LifeTech Accelerator powered by Plug and Play & Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP)

The LifeTech Accelerator will leverage the international reach of Plug and Play, a globally recognized venture capital firm with over 25 industry verticals, and the localized depth and expertise of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) via BioCrossroads and TechPoint. Together they will recruit and accelerate the growth of high-potential startups, strengthen Indiana's bioscience ecosystem, and drive collaboration and innovation to create a thriving epicenter of entrepreneurial activity at IU LAB and 16 Tech. The LifeTech Accelerator will launch in fall 2025 and run two batches per year, totaling 20 to 30 companies per year. Each batch will participate in a 10-week program tailored to the biotech industry with focused services to support start-ups looking to scale their ventures.
